Writing Feedback / In my opinion foreign visitors should be given the choice to follow the local customs or behaviours [4]

Question: Some people believe that visitors to other countries should follow local customs and behaviour. Other disagree and think that the host country should welcome cultural differences.

Tourism has become significantly vital to the various countries' economy. It also brings about more diversification and knowledge of different cultures. Nonetheless, many tourists' behaviours and customs have been openly denounced by the locals. Thus, these issues have stirred continuous and countless debates among the locals and foreigners on whether a foreign visitor should abide by local customs and behaviour.

In many host countries, some foreigners behaviours are deemed terribly unacceptable. However, these foreigners' behaviours are in fact normal and non-aggressive in their own countries. For example, ripping open a packaging to examine the product is totally intolerable and it is also considered as a criminal act in Japan. But increasingly numbers of Chinese tourists have been spotted carrying out such attempts and claimed that this is normal in China. These acts have caused many Japanese people to be upset. As a result, the Hokkaido Tourism Organisation came up with a booklet for travellers which based on etiquette.

Some westerners have also been viewed as unruly and disrespectful in various parts of Eastern Europe and Asia. They have the habit of drinking alcohol or staying out late until the wee hours such as 3am or 4am. The majority of them, tend to talk loudly or even shout in public after being intoxicated. This surely has caused a great disturbance to nearby houses where the locals are sleeping peacefully. Yet, such behaviour is prevalent and regarded as acceptable in western countries such as the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

On the other hand, not every single foreign practices and behaviour are considered inappropriate. And if foreigners are obliged to abide by local customs and behaviours, then there will certainly be a lack of diversification. This will deter the locals from gaining, understanding and learning more about people from around the world. Also, foreigners might shun visiting countries which have such beliefs as they would not like to visit countries which might become hostile or xenophobic towards them if they do not conform. Needless to say, such countries which experience the avoidance of foreigners would possibly face a decline in their economy and deemed as undiplomatic.

In my opinion, I think that foreigners should be given the choice to follow the local customs or behaviours and host countries should welcome cultural differences. However, the locals or authorities of the host countries should censure or criticise foreigners when they behave inappropriately, obnoxiously or disrespectfully.

Writing Feedback / Many advertisements are greatly exaggerated, thus, causing some untruths in the products [3]

Today, the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising and not the real needs of the society in which they are sold

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Competitions around the world for merchandise profits are acutely increasing every second. In order to remain or standout in the marketing arena, companies resort to advertising their products.

Unfortunately, many advertisements are greatly exaggerated, thus, causing some untruths in the products. As a result, gullible consumers would tend to purchase the products even when they do not need them. For instance, the majority of the people have minor or major muscle aches. Hence, many people have fallen victim to companies which tend to magnify the quality and the advantages of their massaging merchandise. However, one of the best solutions to ease muscle aches is by stretching the affected areas. Therefore, massaging equipment is not essential to our well-being.

Furthermore, female slimming products which are excessively promoted are accompanied by beautiful and slim female models. This certainly causes many consumers to think that they will surely have a nice and attractive bodily figure with the aid of the slimming products. However, a multitude of these lose-weight artefacts has caused adverse health problems. The best way to look glamorous is by eating healthily, staying active and exercising frequently.

Expensive smartphones such as the latest iPhone and Samsung models have also found their way into the hands of the masses via enticing advertisements. As a matter of fact, smartphones have provided people with many convenient ways of communication through social networking applications: Gmail, Facebook, Whatsapp, WeChat and so forth. In addition, these incredible and sophisticated mobile applications allow one to send pictures and documents by just tapping on the smartphones' screen a few times. Nevertheless, people do not need expensive smartphones to get their message around. All they need are just average and affordable ones.

On the contrary, advertisements for mediocre, popular or subpar merchandise are also crucial to a country's economy. They enable the people to be aware of the benefits of products and allow people to opt and purchase the most beneficial products. As a result, the country's purchasing power will inevitably rise causing sustainability to the economy.

With hindsight, I think that the ability of advertisements have created artificial needs for consumers and stimulated the high sales for popular goods. However, consumers should be wise by comparing products of different prices and benefits before purchasing them.

Writing Feedback / IELTS Task 2 (Practice) - Who Should Take Responsibility for Juvenile Attitude [3]

When parents' roles are missing, there will be a big hole in their offspring life

It would be sound better if you use phrases such as 'When parents neglect their children, the communicative gap between them will widen. Thus, their children might become wayward teenagers.

Unfortunately, that very essential life skill has been gradually disappearing from the formal curriculum, so there is no choice for a qualified teacher to build their self-awareness to sharpen that specialized skill to their students. The part where I have cancelled is quite ambiguous. 'Unfortunately, that very essential life skill has been gradually disappearing from the formal curriculum. Hence, teachers are compelled to focus on the academic progression of their students than imparting decent social skills to them.

Nice writing with great ideas. Keep practicing and you will succeed.
I hope my ideas are constructive.

Writing Feedback / In this 21st century many families are drifting apart. Is maintaining family a fruitless gesture? [3]

It is generally accepted that families are not as close as they used to be.

In this 21st century, many families are drifting apart. This general issue has caused many people to think that forming or maintaining a family is a fruitless gesture.

These days, the education and information received by people have increased tremendously. This certainly diversifies and enhances the knowledge of the people. However, the number of debates and domestic arguments have also been more pronounced, as each person is more likely to have various outlooks on a specific topic. Also, usually, when connections get closer, friction tend to occur more often.

Abusive substances such as drugs and alcohol have also greatly influenced in the family estrangement. This creates frequent quarrels within a family. Sometimes, the situations might exacerbate by which violence is brought into the subject.

In addition, families which do not exercise constant emotional support are apt to widen the existing gap. A depressive member of a family is highly likely to feel neglected when he does not receive love or understanding from his family members. Thus, he will have the tendency to look for emotional support elsewhere.

To combat this unpleasant issue, families members should make the effort to communicate and try to empathise more among themselves. For example, when a member of a family is criticised, she should not feel like walking in a minefield. Instead, she should try to empathise the complainer and do some soul-searching.

Family members should also learn and adopt a regular habit in forgiving everyone around them. This will definitely clear resentments and cultivate a better domestic ambience.

Blaming others, constantly criticising and nagging at others is another harmful effect on families' bonds. Therefore, being as an adult or a child, one should always try to envision the repercussions if one crosses the line. This will improve the tolerance among family members, and it is also a great tool to subdue domestic tensions.

In a nutshell, families are always important to every single of us. So, we should not take our family members for granted and treasure them dearly.

Research Papers / Research essay: Are zoos necessary? Hundreds of years ago, all animals lived in natural environment. [3]

Hello Nguyễn Thị Minh Ý, I like your essay very much. This essay is a good essay, but it has a lot of grammar mistakes.

For example, this sentence (However, zoos increasingly are built by buying wild animals. ) is pretty hard to comprehend. Are you trying to say that the increasing numbers of zoos built around the world are contained with animals which are captured from the wild and sold to the zoos?

Furthermore, in February 2016, a large number of animals die (died) and escape (escaped) from their cages at Vinpearl Safari in Phu Quoc.

I hope my identification helps.

Writing Feedback / If sports facilities can contribute to people's health or not, has always been a controversial issue [5]

Hello, I would like to share some of my thoughts about your essay.

1.(From a religious point of view, it would be a sin to ignore the ill and focus on sports.) I think that religious perspectives should be excluded, as writing an argumentative essay is always about objectivity.

2. (As a matter of fact, most mental and internal disorders do not necessarily have a correlation with sport and can only be cured with the help of science and medicine) Exercising helps to ease certain mental disorders such as depression. Since engaging in sports activities is a variant of exercise, thus sports help to alleviate mental disorders.

I hope my suggestions are constructive. Good luck!

Writing Feedback / In the recent years, children behavioural problems have dramatically propelled. [8]

In many countries schools have severe problems with student behaviour.

In the recent years, children behavioural problems have dramatically propelled. These issues have caused schools and teachers a great deal of stress in suppressing these wanted behaviours.

In today's society, many parents have to work long hours to sustain the survivability of their households. As a result, their children are left in the care of an outsider, usually a babysitter. Some many even placed their children at a childcare centre. Under these circumstances, discipline is often meagre as their caretakers only ensure that the children are well taken care of.

The overwhelming number of students in each classroom also renders the rising number of students' behavioural issues. To ensure that the lesson is carried out with limited time and assistance, teachers are often compelled to close one's eye to the students' behavioural mistakes. This certainly causes other students to think that they would be fine if they misbehaved in the classroom.

In addition, most marriage couples who are in the process of an ongoing divorce or a finalised one have inadequate time for their children. Therefore, their children have no one to provide them with a decent guidance and proper upbringing during their youth or adolescence period. Hence, it is highly likely that these children would create havoc and disrupt lessons.

In order to tackle this undesirable matter, the schools can encourage the parents and their children to attend regular domestic workshops to solidify their family bonds. Families which are close and warm are more likely to have obedient and sophisticated children.

Also, more parents are seen pampering their children to show their love for them. However, pampering allows their children to think that they can obtain anything even when they behave inappropriately. So the government should help to solve this problem by promoting techniques and articles of influential psychologists which target children behaviours. Therefore, parents will have a better understanding of dealing with their children's behaviour and cultivating good manners in their children.

Schools should also provide more courses with regards to juvenile management for school counsellors and teachers.
With a more sophisticated knowledge of child management, the teachers and counsellors will have an easier time in handling students who behave terribly.

To sum it up, dealing with rebellious young students is not a simple task. Nonetheless, with the right modus operandi and knowledge these impetuous, hyperactive and mischievous students can be dealt with effectively.
