Writing Feedback / IELTS WRITING TASK 1 TOTAL WORLD OIL RESOURCES AND CONSUMPTION [2]

the bart chart presentation

The chart below shows the proportions of the world's oil resources held in different areas, together with the proportions consumed annually in the same areas.

The bar chart compares different regions around the world in terms of oil resources and average consumption each year.

It is evident that oil resources and comsumption vary widely worldwide with Middle East possessing the majority of oil resource while most of oil consumed in US and Asia. By contrast, Australia and New Zealand hold the lowest percentage of oil resources and consumption

A striking 56% of world oil resources is made up by countries in Middle Easet, which is four times as large as that of Canada, the country having the second highest amount of global oil, at 14,81%. The percentage of Central South America, Eastern Eruope and Africa is only half that figure for each one. With regared to the remaining areas, the oil resources they have, in combination, account for well below 10% of world oil reservoir.

Turning to global annual oil consumption, the highest figures belong to Asia with 26.21% of the amount of oil consumed, followed closely behind by America, at 25,48%. Meanwhile, the proportions of oil used in other regions vary in the range of 1% to around 7%, except for Western Europe. These European countries utilized nearly a fifth of world annual oil consumption.

I am quite concerned about the number and quality of some comparisons.
I hope you guys can give me some advice on them
And if possible, can you tell me which band can I achieve with this essay?

Writing Feedback / IELTS WRITING TASK 1 The graph below shows trends in US meat and poultry consumption. [3]

trends in US meat and poultry consumption

The line graph compares the intake of meat and poultry in the US from 1995 to 2012.

At first glance, it is noticeable that beef was the most popular type of meats over most of the time frame. However, the most dramatic increase was seen in the broiler consumption.

In 1955, over 55 pounds of beef were consumed by the avreage American, compared to 15 pounds of broilers. Over the following two decades, both beef and broilers showed a similar pattern, with the amount of the former reaching its peak of 90 pounds per person in 1976. However, this advance was followed by a downfall as beef intakes fell to just above 50 pounds in 2012. Meanwhile, the figure for broilers witnessed a steady growth to a level of 55 pounds per capita in the final year, surpassed the amount of beef eaten and became the most favored type of meat.

By contrast, the quantities of pork and turkey were quite stable throughout the period. The trend for pork consumption was downward with some mild fluctuations varying from 40 to 50 pounds before finishing the period at around 43 pounds every person, whereas the pork was the least popular meat as its statistic only remained round 10 pounds despite a slow growth in its intake.

The graph below shows the quantities of goods transported in the UK between 1974 and 2002 by four different modes of transport.

The line graph compare four modes of transport in terms of the amounts of goods they conveyed in the UK from 1974 to 2002

At first glance, it is noticeable that the quantities of goods transported by nearly all means of transport witnessed an increase over the time frame with the exception of rail. Also, road registered the highest amount of goods throughout the period.

In 1974, about 70 million tonnes of goods were transported by road, compared to 39 million tonnes carried via waterways. While the trend for road was upward with some fluctuations and a mild growth to 95% in 2002, the good transport by water was consistently below 60 million tonnes until 1998, before rising to around 65 million tonnes in the final year.

In the meantime, the initial quantity of goods conveyed through pipeline were 5 million tonnes. Over the following 8 years, there was an upsurge in its figure to 25%, followed a period of stability and then a downfall, falling back to 20 million tonnes. By contrast, the good conveyance via railways proved quite erratic, with its figure varying between 30 and 40 million tonnes over the timescale.

Writing Feedback / Aging populations in countries - WRITING TASK 1 Ielts [5]

I suggest that you should pharaphrase a few words like percentage, proportion <=> figure, then <=> over the following ...( a number) years. Also, it is advisable that you use some linking words. For example instead of "The percentage of population aged 65 ..." you can say it like "Over the first four decades, the percentage of elderly citizens in USA rose substantially from 9% to 15%, followed by a slight decline to around 13% in 2020"

Writing Feedback / Adult education - bar chart and pie chart for ielts writing [3]

I suggest you should use some words like: mention, quote or cite for better expression. For example, instead of saying "only 9% of adults choose education ..." 9% of respondents cited/ mentioned/ gave meeting people as their studying motivation" or "Interaction with people is quoted as a factor which motivated them to sudy by 9% of the people polled"

Writing Feedback / The proportion of visitors to England who paid a visit to four diverse attractions in Brighton [2]

tourists to England who visited different Brighton attractions

Topic: The line graph below shows the percentage of tourists to England who visited four different attractions in Brighton.

The line graph illustrates the proportion of visitors to England who paid a visit to four diverse attractions in Brighton over three decades.

At first glance, it is noticeable that attendances in Pavilion and Pier saw an increase while the percentage of tourists visiting Art Gallery and Festival declined over the time frame. Also, Pavilion registered the most popular place of interests over most of the period.

In 1980, 30% of travellers to England visited Festival, compared to 21% coming to visit Art Gallery. While the percentage of visitors to Festival declined slightly to around 28% in 2000 before remaning unchanged until the end of the period, the figure for Art Gallery proved relatively erratic. In particular, despite increasing to nearly 38% in 1985, its attendances experienced a fourfold reduction, going down to approximately 9% in 2010.

By contrast, Pavilon and Pier started their period at 24% and 10% respectively. Thereafter, the proportion of people visiting Pavilion sharply rose, reaching its peak of close to 50%, followed by a downfall to 31% in 2010. In the mean time the trend for Pier was upward with some fluctuations and a more than doubling to reach a level of 22% in the final year.
