The advancement of science and technology has positive impact, but arts like music and painting are also important. What do arts tell about life that science do not?

The breakthrough in the field of science and technology has ushered mankind into an unforeseen era. The impact of art on human life is running parallel to that of science. But still art and science have their separate domains. Even though, science is far more advanced than art, there are many things which arts teach about life but science does not.

Art is something which imitates life, may it in a painting or a beautiful song. Where science is able to record measurable facts from events of our world and life, art is able to depict the emotional, political and personal attitudes and reaction to those events of our life. For instance, the painting "Guernica" by Picasso is a well-known painting displaying the devastation that the Spanish Civil War had caused the town of Guernica. Where science may be able to look at the buildings of this town and tell the physical effects of the war, the painting can show the agony of the people of Guernica.

Life, as told by the artists, is not of the rigid truths, but opportunity and possibility in a myriad of wonderful natures. Unlike science, art is not dependant on observation and established facts, but on person when he understands his inner self and is free of any constraints to express it. Artist, not only do they demonstrate the creativity possessed by mankind, and what people can do with innovation, but they also break away from mortality's chain. They surpass the mortal pales to create something brilliant, which is always valued and also envied. To state an example, the world renowned painting of Mona Lisa with its enigmatic smile, by Leonardo da Vinci, still enchants many.

To put in a nutshell, art is something which we can never be measured similar to that of life. Art teaches us to live without limitation and to understand one self, only then we will be successful and achieve great heights.

Undergraduate / 'When I lost my Daddy' A major obstacle That Faced Was in my personal Life... [3]

Life is full of surpises surprises, but when the suprises surprise tends to end someone's life,its it's not easy for us to live it normally...

The one and only obstacle in my life was when i I lost my daddy. I had only my dad as the closest to me. All my problems would tend to have solutions whenever they reach him. He always loved me; me being closest to his heart, there would have never been even a situation where he could say a "No". I have read somewhere, "A Son would be a Son till he gets married, while a Daughter remains a Daughter Till the end of her life". But as we know that god never keeps the good ones for long on the earth, Life changed when a sudden setback came into my life...one sudden afternoon, while I came back from school, I found that there was something wrong at my residence.

And suddenly I found the ambulance near my apartment, and then suddenly saw my dad in it...And that was the time I felt something wrong, some terrible & something worst is on the wait. Dad had been through a lot of problems in his life, he had diabetes, blood & sugar problem too, but he never ~~lets~~ let those problem come in between ~~in workplace nor at home~~ his daily life. Mom told me that he would be fine, and my brother and other family member members acted strong enough to support me and not din't let me know that I m too small to handle this what was happening. The very next day I went hospital to see him, around 5 and found that the doctors were running around for some help from other specialists. Dads were into Dad was in a special ward, where he had 6-7 docs to take his care. And suddenly mom took me near him, dad had already been into come coma since afternoon and I never knew ~~that~~ what exactly the scene was?? And suddenly I was standing near him and crying so badly that I could hardly understand that he is leaving this world and would never ever come back!! He Opened his eyes, he looked at me, smiled, kept his hand on my shoulder and said Do take my daughter's proper care, & to my mother " Do take my daughtr's proper care, then suddenly all the machines stopped working and the doctors started removing all the equipment's from his body. That's the time I understood why people around me were crying so badly? Why the scenario around is was so sad, dramatic??... DAD was always so full of life and spirit & I never expected to live my life without him or his support!

Things were never the same after he left; mom had more responsibilities on her shoulders. My bro had his long term goals which he had to achieve...But between all this that happened I was the only one who never understood what exactly god God wanted from me? Why he took dad away when I needed him? But even though things changed this was really a big step for me to move ahead!!

Writing Feedback / IELTS 2. Should government control scientific research . [3]

Ques: Scientific research should be carried out or controlled by government rather than private companies. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Scientific research is the base of technological development which has a significant impact on the human lives. Research always involves extensive human resource and economy. Some people are of the opinion that scientific investigation should be carried out by government agencies alone without the involvement of private organization. I agree to this statement and will substantiate my view in this essay.

To begin with, scientific research needs years of commitment and surplus amount of money. For instance, when the research is carried out on human genome, I will take decades to observe the result. While private agencies will not be able to carry on such research, government can. Consequently, government sponsored research can result in mass collaborative projects that are beyond the scope of isolated private research. People are more confident to participate in government involved scientific research as they know government will not conduct research on human without being cent per cent confident of success.

In addition to that, government funded research are knowledge oriented while funding of research by private companies is mainly motivate by profit. Thus profit incentives causes researchers to concentrate their energies on projects which are perceived as likely to generate profit, rather than advancement of the citizen. An additional advantage to the government sponsored study is that results are publically shared for everybody's scrutiny, whereas with privately funded research the ideas are controlled by a single group.

To put in nutshell, it is always for the betterment of the people when the research is conducted and controlled by the government, as they are answerable to the whole nation rather than private agencies who seek their own benefit.

The government is responsible for protecting a nation's cultural identity. Thus, some people think it is the duty of the government to ensure that new buildings are built in traditional styles. To what extent do you agree?

Every country is known by its cultural heritage. Tourists visit various countries to understand their culture and tradition. It is government's duty to maintain the cultural uniqueness of the country. However, I strongly disagree with the view that government should be accountable for the new building to be made in vintage model.

To begin with, it is the owner's choice to decide how his project is going to look like. For instance, in this technologically advanced society no one would like to have dome shaped architecture. In addition to that, a few of the government owned property can be built in traditional style. But, to build all the buildings in old-fashioned way, even though it may be inconvenient is mere thoughtlessness.

Moreover, to preserve the ethnic character of a country many factors can contribute. Government should try to uplift the art form of the country. To cite an example, almost all countries have one or the other traditional dance form. The administration of the country should try to give it an international platform. Worldwide exhibitions can be organized, portraying the talent of the country.

Last but not least, instead of spending money on new construction, government should try to preserve those that already exist. Many ancient monuments of the country lie in ruin and no government aid is provided to them. Therefore, the nation should try to restore these precious heritages and this will in turn improve country's cultural identity.

To sum up, culture originates with the beginning of the country. One should adapt to the changing times and move forward but should take the past with them. Instead of going for new traditional buildings, one should try to improve those that are already present.

The ~~given~~ pie chart ~~was a survey~~ compares the amount spent by the Americans for various food items from their budget in the year 2002.~~ofabout the amount of America spending on food in 2002, weighted as percentages.~~

A glance at the graph clearly shows that, meat and other non vegetarian constituted one fourth of the expenditure.The other quarter of the budget was spent on vegetables, cereals and bakery that is 8% and 16% respectively.Whilst,fruits,beverages,fats and oil,sugars and sweets made the next 26%.A good 11% of the amount was spent was spent for the dairy products and the remaining 15% was paid for various food products.

To sum up, the food budget for the house was distributed among various class of food items sensibly.

You have not given introduction for the second table in the introduction. Try to give numbers instead what is above what. You need to practice with your graph. I am also preparing for my IELTS so dont feel bad. u can just write1) Introduction in which you describe both chart what they stand for and the time. 2) next line the most striking point of the graph is that throughout the three years the maximum amount of contribution for R &D was by business sector 3) body of graph explain first and second chart and mention numericals. 4) conclusion. I Don't know to what extent it would help you. In your introduction you have just rephrased the question, instead go for somethin related to the topic using different vocabulary. Give atlest one line introduction before jumping on to the topic. Your third paragraph is small compared to other paras, try go with equal paras also there are a few spelling mistakes on same para.In conclusion they have not asked what type of company should hire consultants , just answer company should hire consultant or not. Don't deviate from topic. all the best

There is a spelling mistake in the first paragraph 5th sentence(pearl) and in secopn para 4th sentence I think it will come, this is done effectively in catherina elmondoroh's portrait. QUES: More and more colleges and universities are offering courses through distance learning. Distance learning has many benefits, but there are also drawbacks, as this method may not be suitable for all students. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

In this era of Information technology face-to-face teaching is no longer a necessity. Distance education has made it possible; it is a solace for those who wish to pursue their education further, in spite of the busy lifestyle. Like any kind of education program, distance learning comes with a host of pros and cons. This essay would discuss, even though online education has many benefits, it is not feasible for everyone.

Firstly, distance education is costly and involves complex technology. For instance, for a person to study online he should possess a computer and the internet connection. It also involves many hidden expenses. To cite an example, for reference one may need to purchase many books, as library facility is not available. At times student may need to look for personal tutor, to clarify their doubts. These all lead to extra charges on the student. Moreover, many employers do not even acknowledge distance learning, thus the hard work and money put in by the person for the studies, will be in vain.

Secondly, although online learning is a self-paced learning, students do need to meet the deadlines. Thus a person with a family or a hectic schedule will have to do hard labour to complete his work on time, and this may lead to further stress and strain. In addition to that, as compared to conventional education system, this method does not offer immediate feedback. So, that student will be in complete ignorance about his progress or mistakes. Online learning also causes social isolation, as tangible atmosphere of formal education will not be there.

To put in nutshell, despite the many opportunities offered by distance learning, there are inevitable accompanying costs. Thus, the person wishing to pursue online education should be ready to meet all the challenges.
