Writing Feedback / IELTS; tuition fees, who are responsible to pay? [5]

Students should pay the full cost of university studies, rather than have free higher education provided by the government. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Over the last few decades, student's fees have been a constant subject of debate due to increasing charge at most universities. A number of people opine that each student must pay for their own university fees, whilst others, including me contend with this.

There are several multifarious reasons that it is justifiable for the state to take full responsibility in providing free education for everyone. First, people are obliged to pay high amount of taxes, even those who are less fortunate. It is also lucrative for the government sine everyone will be able to finish their chosen courses, land a good job and eventually help improve the economy of the country. In addition, university expenditures are much more expensive compared to school level education; hence, not everyone can bear the burden of sending students to a university most especially if there are two or more students in a family. What's more, there are many extraordinary learners who belong to less fortunate families. If the government will not be able to give opportunity for these types of students, the country will ultimately lose an important asset that can drive the economy into a higher level.

On the other hand, opponents declare that university education should not be free at all because there are many issues more important than giving free education that need to be tackled first. For example in India, over population, health, food and clean water supply need more emphasis since these are indispensable for the survival of the country. Additionally, it is more difficult for the magistrates to provide free education for there are some college courses that are costly and could impede the growing economy of a nation. Instead of extravagantly spending money on education, states could splurge into infrastructures which provide work for people so they can send their children to university.

In conclusion, it is fundamental for the government to focus on the education system by providing everyone a free access to a higher education. After all, education is considered to be one of the most important treasures of any country.

Writing Feedback / IELTS; schools as oppose to parents; different forms of violence [6]

IELTS writing task 2
topic: some people think that parents should teach children how to be good member of the society. others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this. discuss both views and give your own opinion

At the present time, it can be clearly seen that the society suffers tremendously form different forms of violence due to dramatically increasing number of hard-headed people. Some people assert that schools must take full responsibility on child's behavior, whilst others, including me, believe that parents should take over.

It is undeniable that children are highly influenced by their parents mainly because they spend most of their time together. For instance, a female toddler would mimic her mother's actions such as wearing a lipstick and some would try to imitate their words. At this crucial young age, adults must be cautious with their actions because children are keen observers and might learn things that should not be known such as saying bad words. What's more, parents have a direct authority over their children, hence, should be the primary to teach good manners, how respect others and accept differences.

Nevertheless, school is another influential environment for children. Education gives students different kinds of practical exposure and opens their mind to what really life is. School teaches students how to overcome every obstacle in life and how to excel not just academically but also socially. For instance, some students have family problems and schools give guidance and counseling on how to respond into the situation, to respect still the parents and give motivation to continue with their life. What's more, the school provides a training ground of what children have learned from their respective families and from the four-corners of the classroom.

To conclude, although the school has a great impact to the success of a child's life, the parents still must have the full responsibility in the child's behavior.

Writing Feedback / conventional medicine, is it safe or not? [4]

IELTS writing task 2

Currently there is a trend towards the use of alternative forms of medicine. However, at best these methods are ineffective, and at worst they may be dangerous. To what extent do you agree with this statement?

In this day and age, conventional medicine is gaining more popularity all over the world due to increasing number of diseases that still have no cure. However, some people contend that these traditional medicines are far more hazardous. From my perspective, I agree with this contention.

Admittedly, there are several reasons why conventional medicines are ubiquitous. Firstly, a number of anecdotal evidence supporting that these therapies work. For instance, we have heard many advertisements on the radio or television claiming that traditional medicines have healed certain diseases such diabetes, high blood pressure and even heart related diseases. What makes these statements strong is that it is often testified by some doctors as well. It also claims that there are no know side effects when taking these medicines. Furthermore, conventional medicines are more affordable compared to the modern medicine.

Nevertheless, there are some strong points to believe that conventional medicine brings more danger. Despite the use of herbs throughout the years and even ancient times, not all of them have been studied regarding their safety and efficiency. Most people assume that herbal medicines are better than synthetic drugs mainly because they are all natural, hence, presents no risk. Nonetheless, this is not true. They could do more harm than good if taken without studying their effects in our body. Moreover, the assertion made by people and even some doctors declaring they have been healed or a certain patient is now totally cancer-free, might be a form of propaganda.

In the final analysis, these conventional medicines has no scientific proof that it is safe, thus, must be avoided.

Writing Feedback / advertising issues; regulate a law prohibiting unacceptable advertising [2]

Hi! im preparing for my IELTS. please help me with this. thankz!

Some of the methods used in advertising are unethical and unacceptable in today's society. To what extent do you agree with this view?

In recent times, there has been a boom in the advertising industry because this is one of the best ways to let the consumers know the product well. However, some of the ways used in advertisement are considered inappropriate and indecent.

Admittedly, advertisements are helpful both to the producers and consumers. To the producers, they help increase the sales by letting people know about the product they sell. To consumers, it offers many options to choose from according to your various needs. Furthermore, it can be a powerful tool in educating the people and improving their heath. For instance, advertisement makes people aware of medical conditions associated with too much salt intake, such as high blood pressure, edema and renal failure.

Despite the argument above, I believe some methods used in advertising are unethical. Advertisement encourages people to buy products they may not need or beyond their ability to afford and this is evident in children and young adult in particular. In addition, it causes people to be materialistic. They are dragged to the fact that one must have the latest gadget, new clothes and toys, thus, this put enormous pressure on the parents. What's more, there are some scenes on advertisement that are too mature for children, such as advertisements with regard to reproductive health and use of contraceptives, these kind of advertisements must not be seen on large screens.

To conclude, it is true that advertising helps the economy of the country. Nevertheless, government should regulate a law prohibiting unacceptable advertising that may have a negative impact on children.
