Writing Feedback / IETLS General Task 1: You have taken apart time job. issue with them and its solution [8]

Recently you took apart time job? After few weeks you realize there were some problem with your part time job.
Explain why you took the job? Describe the problems that you encounter? Suggest what could be done about them?

Dear Sir,
I am writing to inform the problem which I am facing since recently in continue my part time job as typist in our office. Though I am engineering student going, I was able to manage my working hours and college hours as both are at different timing as well as located at the same area.

Unfortunately, in our college my entire department was shifted to our new building at Alexandra road which is 10 km far away from our office. I am afraid, whether I will be to continue my work and studies on time without any issue due to the lengthy travel time.

As you aware that I am definitely in need of a part time job in order to meet my financial expenses which is main reason besides this part jobs for the past few weeks.

It will be better enough for me if you could consider me to transfer my work location to another office branch next to Alexandra road and it was only 2 km away from my new college building.

I hope there will not be any issue on this as far I am doing my duty efficiently.

Yours faithfully,
Tom

Speeches / Should controversial foods be allowed to protect a nation's tradition or culture? [4]

Hi Anne,
I can help you with the example for this topic.
People think that rice is the traditional food in South India which is not true. Actually ragi and some other spices were traditional food but due to the transformation in people's habit the old tradition was fully eradicated and the present generation not even aware of this.

Again the situation is emerging due to noodles, spaghetti and pasta which may replace the rice as well in future.

You can make use of this info to add in your debate.
Hope this will help you

Writing Feedback / IELTS Task2: Technological developments in the past few decades. Positive ? [4]

Day 2 - Tasks
There have been many technological developments in the past few decades, for example in telecommunications, transport and health.
What technological development do you think has been the most important? How has it changed people's lives? Have all the changes been positive?

Galloping advancement in science and technologies over the past few decades has taken dramatic leap forward in making our life much more convenient and easy. I believe, these substantial developments especially in the field of telecommunication which made the entire world interconnected and have been beneficial to people in many aspects.

To being with, internet plays a vital role in improving telecommunication via satellite networks. There are numerous amounts of gadgets which made our life comfortable in various means. For example, online booking and reservation of tickets, bill payments, internet banking, virtual classrooms etc... are really helpful nowadays in contrast to the previous old day situation like standing in a long queue for everything. Furthermore, social network websites and blogs has cast its grip in our life which enable people to know each other and sharing information irrespective of their geographical locations.

In addition, virtual classroom helps working professionals to pursue their studies after working hour just being in home with internet facility. It is common today to conduct video conference meeting from different region to do business globally.

However, while discussing the positive aspects of these enhancements, we can't overlook the detrimental effects which are spoiling our younger generation. Children and teenagers seem to be addicted to computer games and social networking which cause them to be away from their day-jobs. They are all fond of living in a virtual world rather than being social in the real world.

Kindly send me you valuable fesdbacks. Thanks.

To sum up, though there are disadvantages due to technological development, the benefits always overweigh them. Hence, instead of being away from utilising the upcoming changes in the technical world, it will be better to educate our young minds to distinguish the real life significance and the virtual world.

Write a letter to your friend. In your letter

give contact details for when you are away
give instructions about how to care for your pet
describe other household duties

Dear Andy,

Many thanks for house sitting during our holiday trip to Malaysia.

I am writing this to you because we are planning to start a day ahead as we got a good deal in flight fare. I am sorry for the short notice. You can get the house key from our neighbour who is staying opposite to our home and her name is Rekha.

You can make use of our kitchen to prepare food on your own else you have to get if from the nearby foot court down the street.

As we discussed over phone, you have to take care of our fishes in the showcase fish tank. Twice in a day you have to provide food for them which you can find at the adjacent self. Please water our plants daily without fail as they are directly exposed to sunlight. Finally take care of our puppy dog which will have Pedicure biscuits and milk. You can find them at the bottom of the kitchen store.

I am placing a post note on the dining table with the details about the hotel and the contact number to reach us in case of any emergency.

Thank you very much my friend for the timely help.

Warm Regards,

Jack

Writing Feedback / schools replacing sports and exercise classes with more academic [5]

Most of the schools are planning to replace sports and exercise classes with more academic sessions. What is your opinion on this change? How this change will affect children's life in your view?

Galloping advancement in science and technologies, it has proliferated huge volume of academic syllabus for school students in their curriculum. As a result of this substantial changes over the period, today many schools tend to focus increasingly on academic curriculum and reluctant in providing physical education for children. In my opinion, this trend is not going to aid students to have a proper mental and physical health.

Certainly, in this competitive world, students are working hard enough in schools to get admission in reputed universities plus their desired courses. Children are more often seems to be a book worm rather than participating in sports activities. They don't even have breath time to think about anything other than studies. The entire above said situation is due to hefty academic syllabus in schools, absence of physical education and prevailing competition among schools to secure top ranking in public exams.

On analyzing the possible results due to this present condition, following are the probable deterioration which has to avert. Children may get spoil both mentally and physically by avoiding sports activities. Beyond certain point, children are not able to cope up with the increasing pressure on studies. Until there is some mental relaxation by diverting them into sports, there are more chances for seeing poor performance in exams as well. Finally, the sheer objective of shape up our children's future become a paramount.

In order to avoid the above detrimental effects from happening, children should be engaged in physical activities, especially in sports. In-spite of studies, the absence of consistent participation in sports events during schools, it is highly impossible for children to have a good stamina and flexible body in later ages. Furthermore, adoption of sedentary life habit become common among teenagers which results in health issues such as premature ageing, obesity etc... Countries like Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom pay more attention in sports for their school children who led them to have appropriate physic and also excel in sports events all over the world.

To sum up, I would say, besides scoring excellent marks in academic side, children should have given chance to involve in more physical activities especially in sports and government should take measures to combat the present situation in our education system by revising the academic syllabus and make the physical education a mandatory one in schools.

Writing Feedback / IELTS- Most schools planning to replace sports classes with more academic sessions [4]

Hi Duminda,
Thanks for your valuable suggestions. We all can get to know more sentence formation and vocabulary.

Hi Dev,
Apart from you points. I can see in many places your sentences are breaking and not clear enough to convey your ideas.

Eg:

They have to play and study both important in their mental and physical development.
According to their daily results they have study in extra classes if they receive lower marks in the evening.

Arun

Writing Feedback / ( IELTS essay) Drop sports classes from school? [5]

Hi Tessy,

Additionally, sports and games can help students to impart the valuable lessons, essential for the day-to-day and future lives

In the about sentence I dont understand the word " IMPART". normally impart means convey, communicate, give, transmit, inform
Not sure in want does you are putting forward here related to the topic.

These all qualities will enrich their personality and physical and mental health. --> All these qualities will help to enrich one's personality and being healthy both physically and mentally.

I feel concluding paragraph is framed with repeated set of words which was used in the above paragraphs. Please avoid repeated vocabulary and try to use the synonyms.

Thanks for more points in this topic.

Writing Feedback / Childcare training course for parents. Agree or Disagree? [7]

Childcare training course for parents can be the best way to update them to bring up their children. To what extent do you agree or disagree with it?

Children are the pillars of this brick and mortar society. Certainly, it is highly important to nurture the future generation in a better way. Some people find it hard to shape up their children, so they feel that parental education is the suitable possible solution for this issue. However others are not willing to accept this fact.

There are many reasons behind parent's lack of knowledge towards child care in the present age. There was a time when ladies merely taking care of their children alone, rather than going for work.

Mostly people were living under traditional way of extended family life style, whereas today people are much more isolated due to various circumstances. In addition, lack of mind set to gain clear perspective about family life and its bonding relationships.

Above said things are more common today and also the cause of the difficulties encounter by people in bringing up their children. Being a father of one year old baby boy and also belong to this modern age society, to be honest, it is highly impossible to change the mind-set of the of people and their way of living. Hence, the only possible solution is to accept the childcare training courses for parents.

Undoubtedly, there are much more benefits which everyone can obtain by taking parental courses. First of all, it helps parents to identify themselves about their innocents towards parenting. Secondly, it educates every parent to equip their children in a better manner. As a result of all these benefits, people can enjoy self-satisfaction by admiring at their children's proper growth and wellness.

As a whole, I would say, the objective is to lay better foundation for children's future right from the beginning. There is no matter about the way, how parents acquire knowledge to light up their children adequately. It could be either by experience or through parental training. Parents should realize their responsibilities and act accordingly for the betterment of future young generation.

Writing Feedback / Should children spend their free time on school work? IELTS [9]

Some people believe that children are given too much free time. They feel that this time should be used to do more school work. How do you think children should spend their free time?

There are people who perceive that children are having much more leisure hours as a whole in general and insisting to use those times to do work related to their studies. I agree with the view, it is however, the leisure hours can spend in a different ways, so that children able to realize their social responsibility and hidden potential.

Besides, academic curriculum, students should be encouraged to participate in building activities which will help them to understand the significance of unity. In addition, schools can initiate certain social awareness programs and engage student's volunteers to participate in order to simulate social awareness and their responsibility among entire student community. Apparently, these activities facilitate to lay better foundation for our future generation and in the same way utilizing their precious time in a fruitful manner.

Furthermore, children are capable of grasping the things in gallop. Eventually, encouraging children to learn extra-curricular activities such as dance, music and sports are the best feed for their free time. For example, countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and China organized student sport community centers, in order to improve their sports skills which led them gain more medals in Olympics, common wealth games etc...

There are always be supporters and critiques for all new initiatives, but the fact remains that though academic education is essential thing for students for their better career path, social awareness and exceptional talent add fuel to shape their personality to reach lime light in our society. In my opinion, it is our responsibility to align the students towards above said activities and aid them to make use of their leisure period in a productive way.

Writing Feedback / Hardships of university studies than schools: IELTS prepartion essay [11]

Thanks for your time in evaluating my essay. I agree with most of your points. Will try to concentrate on those areas.
One thing which I don't understand is "Students dont stay in hostels"
But normally they stay in college hostels while they study at college. Even I too stayed in college hostel for taking my Bachelor Degree.
I hope this may not in practice at your place, I guess. In India most of the students get away from home and stay in hostel for their studies.

Thanks a lot Tian. Keep helping me in my writings.
