Scholarship / Study plans to improve foreign languages (KGSP Undergraduate Study Plan Part A) [4]
Hello everyone! this is my explanation for the given question:
Study plans to improve foreign languages (Korean, English, etc) required for taking a bachelor's degree course BEFORE and AFTER you come to Korea.
I would really appreciate it if you help and correct my essay. thank you ^^
I have been studying in a school where it's a must to speak English. Since elementary school, I have always conversed, studied, and practiced my English through written and oral tests. Thus I believe I am a good English user despite it being my second language. Though I'm sure my English is good, I will always practice it whenever I could. Up until now, I have been more interested in novels and poems; consequently I am sure it will help improve my grammar and vocabulary and it will benefit me in the future. As for my speaking skills, I have always been interested in music, specifically singing, so whenever I sing, I make sure I'm pronouncing the words and vowels correctly. If I don't understand the meaning of a specific word or a metaphor, I would search it up and understand it thoroughly.
I have always been interested in the Korean language since the beginning of high school. Since then, I've already practiced reading and writing the basics in Korean. I have also started to memorize basic vocabulary that's usually used on a daily basis. Since I'm very interested in music, I tend to listen to songs from all over the world - including music from Korea. Since I like to sing along to the music that I listen to, I usually memorize the lyrics by listening and then matching what I hear with the correct pronunciation by reading the written lyrics in both Korean and English so that I understand what the sentences mean. Thus, I get to work with my pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. Although I'm still not ready to converse in Korean, I will definitely try my best to learn the language.
If I were given the opportunity to study in South Korea, I will definitely do my best. This is automatic, since I have always been interested in the Korean culture since high school, and to study there will be such an honor. Upon my arrival in Korea, I will plan self-study Korean sessions outside of the given Korean language program in order to be advanced in the studies. If there are events open for foreigners interested in learning Korean, I will try my best to attend and learn from the people there. I will try to converse both in English and in Korean. Since I have been very interested in literature, I will also attempt to read Korean novels and poems once I have understood the Korean sentence structures, words, and meanings thoroughly. Of course, I will start reading children books and short stories first before moving on to complex novels.
I would definitely do my best
