Article Summary: Bouncy Bone can be 3D-printed to become a universal repair kit

The newly developed ink can be used to 3D-print flexible bone implants in any size, shape and form, giving surgeons a cheap and versatile way of repairing an injury. Ramille Shah at Northwestern University in Illinois and her colleagues have developed an ink that can be 3D-printed into bone implants that ultra-elastic, allowing surgeons to cut and manipulate them to form the perfect shape.

The ink is made from hydroxyapatite, a mineral found naturally in bine, and PLGA, a polymer that binds the mineral particle together and gives the implants their elasticity. In the test, the implants healed spinal defects in rats as fast and as well as existing treatments. The team also made an implant to heal an area of damaged skull in a monkey. Shah says the material should reach in the clinic within five years.

Writing Feedback / TED Summary: Why we Need to Talk About Depression by Kevin Breel [5]

Kevin Breel, is a person who suffering depression about 6 years. He said that many people have a misconception about depression, depression is not about sad about didn't get a job which is a natural emotion. The real depression is being sad when everything seems to be alright. And every 30 second someone commits suicide because of depression.

Many people do not care about people who suffering mental illness instead of physical disease. And depression is not a kind of disease which is cured and gain absolutely health, you must spend many years to deal with depression and it is not easy. Many people think depression are cured by itself because of misconception about depression and ironically, depression is the most common mental problem but the least discussed. The first thing that people can do about depression is to vanish the silence and intolerance.

Writing Feedback / Discussion: Free Trade and lack of capital, low standard products, and unskilled workers [4]

The free movement of goods across national borders has long been a controversial issue. Some people argue that it is necessary for economic growth, while others claim that it damages local industries.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion

It becomes clear that free movement goods across national borders has become common in some countries. However, it becomes controversial because this act may cause damage to local industries. Many local industries have many issues like lack of capital, low standard products, and unskilled worker. If other countries send goods which are higher quality and cheaper the local industries will hard to compete and collapse. If the government do not calculate the advantages and drawbacks carefully the free trade will trigger economic fell.

In the other hand, the free trade also has several advantages if local industries are able to send local products to other countries. For example, the big local industries will send goods to other countries with just a little cost and have bigger merit. Otherwise, if a country decided to make a free trade among other countries surely because this act has several advantages than disadvantages for the home country. A free trade generally considered will increase economic growth and as a solution to overcome rarity of general good which caused inflation.

In my opinion, I agree if the free trade occurred because it is hard to increase economic growth if government always give much protection toward local industry. For example, many local industries never think their unique product will have a customer from other countries, and the free trade will enforce them to think in the bigger way. The free trade will make local industries more competitive and force them to improve their advantage. The free trade also allows local industries to think creatively.

In conclusions, I would agree that the advantages of free trade to other countries overweight the disadvantages.

Writing Feedback / Strangers are not dangerous - we should talk to them keeping in mind cultural differences [6]

TED Summary: Why you Should Talk to Strangers by Kio Stark

In many parts of the world, people are raised to believe that stranger is dangerous. But, Kio stated that most strangers are not dangerous and we have erased the assumption and category about other people. Categorise people in physical appearance like black, white, Asian is not valid and we have seen another people as an individual.

When someone wishes talks to stranger one thing important is to realise about the culture where you live in. In several countries, people have more privacy and get annoyed if annoyed if you talk to them. In other countries, it is rude to ignore people and you should build a conversation. Kio stated that in many unwritten rules in the world maybe break rule a bit can help someone build up a conversation. Talk to a dog or baby also a kind of practice to improve your courage.

Writing Feedback / Article Summary Task 1: High-living geckos survive snowy peaks by cuddling up [2]

Unlike most geckos thrive in tropical climates, the Atlas Day Gecko has adapted to life in the mountain tops through cold winters. Abdellah Bouazza and his colleagues at Cadi Ayyad University in Morocco have been investigating how cold-blood lizard id able to survive the freezing heights. The team found this lizard emerge in the morning to bask in the sun on exposed rocks, staying glued to a rock allowed geckos to warm up.

Gecko is known to be territorial but living in a cold place seems to make them more social. Several animals are often found basking in the same spot and sharing the same shelter. Female communally lay eggs in warm crevices, which is not unique among geckos. Unfortunately, as temperature rises due to global warming, the atlas Day Gecko may no longer be the dominant species in the High Atlas

Writing Feedback / TED Summary: You can Grow new Brain Cells Here How by Sandrine Thuret [2]

Many peoples think that when people became adult their brain did not produce any cells again. But Sandrine Thuret, a neuroscientist stated that adult brain can generate new nerve cells. The part of human brain named hippocampus are responsible for learning, memory, mood and emotion. Hippocampus produces 700 new neurones per day. And then, while a human became 50 years old, all their neurone cells are exchanged with the hippocampus.

Otherwise, specific activity and behavior will increase neurogenesis or instead decreased it. Activities like study, sleep, and running will increase neurogenesis. On the contrary, activities like drink alcohol, stress, and getting old will decrease neurogenesis. And then what kind of food we eat also have contribution to increase neurogenesis or decreased it. Food like blueberries, dark chocolate, and salmon are contribute to increasing neurogenesis. Conversely, food with high fat, and ethanol will decrease neurogenesis.

Writing Feedback / Budgies reveal the rule that means birds never collide in flight [3]

How do birds avoid crashing into each other now isn't mystery again, Manydam Srinivasan, a scientist at University of Queensland Australia and his colleagues uncovered the simple trick when filming pairs of budgerigars flying towards each other in a narrow tunnel. Manydam stated that group hierarchy may determine which bird moves up and which moves down. Dominant bird tends to fly lower and probably because of more energy efficient and easier to go lower than fly higher, so the non-dominant bird forced to gain altitude.

Actually, this knowledge can provide inspiration for anti-collision systems in drones. Once the technology becomes available, drones have an ability to communicate with each other and to veer right when they encounter one another became a straightforward strategy to reduce collisions. But scientist still developing technology solutions that can achieve what birds do naturally
